Gardens By The Bay Wedding Photography Guide - Flower Dome & Cloud Forest
Gardens By The Bay Pre Wedding Shoot Guide
Upon making a booking for the 2hr wedding photoshoot package, you will have to make a choice on which areas within Gardens By The Bay, Flower Dome and Cloud Forest you would like as a backdrop for your wedding shoot. We definitely wonāt be able to shoot at every single location, but I have shortlisted some of my favourite places we can cover during the 2 hour booking.
Here is a list of areas we will be covering in this article!
Flower Dome
Olive Grove
Mediterranean Garden Walkway
Cloud Forest
The Falls
Orchid Haven (NEW)
Level 1 Bridge
Lift Landing Window
Lost World Pond
Cloud Walk
Treetop Walk
Flower Dome
1. Olive Garden (Korean style park)
One of the spots I really love is this area in Olive Grove. With the chilly air con temperature, tall green trees, and white daisies blooming, youāll feel like youāre walking around a nice and romantic park in Korea.
There is also a wooden bench for you to sit and rest while enjoying each otherās company.
Photography Tip: On a clear sunny day, one tip will be shooting on a low angle, with the sun as backlight. That will give the photo a very dreamy effect.
Flower Dome, Olive Garden
2. Mediterranean Garden Walkway
While walking around Flower Dome, you will come across this area with many cone and spiral shaped trees. These quirky trees looks like something you may find in a park in London.
Cloud Forest
3. The Falls
One of the main features of the whole Cloud Forest is the 35m indoor waterfall. It is also the first feature you will see after walking through the entrance. For this area, it is best to shoot with an ultra wide angle lens to capture the entire waterfall. I used a 14mm F2.8 lens to get this shot. Just be sure not to get too close to the waterfall or stay too long as your hair and outfit might get wet.
4. Orchid Haven (NEW)
This is the latest permanent area in Cloud Forest featuring Singaporeās national flower, Orchids. With beautiful hues of purple, red, pink and white orchids, they will make a nice contrast and a pop of color with your white wedding gown.
5. Level 1 Bridge
This is a large walkway which I really like, especially for some shots of the bride and groom walking together.
During specific timings, there will be a spray of mist. It creates a very moody and foggy effect which is very beautiful in the photos.
It happens at 10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 4:00pm, 6:00pm, 8:00pm.
6. Lift Landing Window
At level 5, there is a specific window near the lift heading up to Lost World. They have a very nice view of the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) building. If you shoot backlit, it creates a beautiful and dreamy silhouette shot.
7. Lost World Pond
At the very top of Cloud Forest, there is a still pond where we can get creative shots with the clear reflections in the water.
8. Cloud Walk
This bridge is great to capture walking shots, while you can enjoy the view of Cloud Forest all the way on top.
9. Treetop walk
This last spot is where we can take in the view of the whole mountain. I usually like to shoot at this location when the mist is spraying, to have the fog effect in the photos. It usually only lasts 5 mins so the timing to capture it is very tight and we will only have one chance to capture it as well.
Photography Tip: Great place and background for solo bride and groom shots!
